Armani Privé Haute Couture Spring 2011 Collection

23rd Century couture.

Giorgio Armani put together a futuristic, sci-fi, Jetsons-like collection, topped it off with striking Philip Treacy flying saucer hats, and sent it gliding down the runway; the models descending to earth in their liquid-like gowns adorned with sparkly crystals. There's an amazing sense of texture with the metallic-threaded silks, accentuated by the elongated, sleek silhouettes. It's just breathtaking. We love the jewel tones of blue, red, lime, and pink; love the silhouettes with the "sliced" right through the center; we even like the leggings, which work with most of the outfits. Ever since he designed that Emporio Armani Spring 2011 collection inspired by Gaga, we've seen a more daring Giorgio. A welcome sight, because he proves with this collection that an old dog can still evolve and change and offer up incredibly modern looks with a hint of the unexpected.
