Kristen Stewart slaps on a smile (sort of) and some warpaint in the latest Vogue. First, her innermost thoughts and desires:

On the weight of portraying Bella Swan:
“a character who is embedded in so many people’s psyches at this point. It’s starting to enter my head a lot more than it used to because it’s at the end and it’s come such a long way. I just want the fans of the book to be happy.” She laughs. “I don’t necessarily care about anyone else.”

On being a famous star:
“There’s no way to eloquently put this,” she says. “I just can’t go to the mall. It bothers me that I can’t be outside very often. And also to not ever be just ‘some girl’ again. Just being some chick at some place, that’s gone.”

On starting her career early:
“I don’t think I would ever have been able to be an actress had I not started at nine years old. I would have been the last person to stand up and say, ‘I’d like to star in the play.’ ”

The poor thing. Sold into acting slavery at a young age and forced to accept multi-million-dollar payouts for astoundingly popular big budget films.

Having gotten that little bit of bitchery out of our systems, allow us to pivot on a dime and spew some compliments. We love this editorial. She is beautifully made up in most of these pictures and perfectly styled in pieces from Proenza Schouler's Chanel-inspired spring 2011 collection.

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler with actress Kristen Stewart.

She is absolutely the right actress for these looks The clothes suit her and she suits the clothes. When she's forced into standard princess fantasy gowns of the Oscar de la Renta variety, she looks uncomfortable and pissed off most of the time. The girl has an edge (or she wants you to think she does) and the designs of Proenza Schouler, which are classic-inspired but with modern twists, suit her perfectly. In the behind-the-scenes video, Jack and Lazaro talk about this look and how it became a hit just because Kristen wore it. We gave her an IN at the time. Ironically, in the same post, we gave her an IN for an Oscar de la Renta dress, but we have to admit, she's born to wear Proenza Schouler. We wonder if an ad campaign featuring her isn't far behind.
