H&M Men's Spring 2011 Lookbook

It's Cute Boy Day here at T Lo International.

H&M released their look books for Spring '11. H&M? Why don't you tell us a little about the Men's collection?

"The function and form of utility clothing and the global trend for personal style are major fashion influences this spring. It’s all about finding perfect new versions of contemporary classics, then styling them in a completely new way. Khakis are a must, and essential pieces look better than ever, be it a blazer, a uniform jacket, a striped jersey or a crisp shirt, to be matched with tailored trousers, chinos, white jeans or shorts. These pieces work from day to evening, and can be styled to suit seasonal trends as well as to express an individual’s own personality. It’s like the best version of a man’s wardrobe, where everything works together, taking what’s familiar and creating something completely fresh."

It all looks a little '90s to us, what with the khaki/safari thing, but we're just going to have to face the fact that the '90s started over 20 years ago. There was a '40s fad in the '60s, a '50s fad in the '70s, a '60s fad in the '80s, a '70s fad in the '90s and an '80s fad in the aughties. The '90s redux is right on time.

We're not crazy about the way the looks are styled, but breaking it down into individual pieces, there's plenty of basics to fill out a wardrobe. We don't know if we really buy the whole utilitarian aspect of it, since H&M clothes are notoriously disposable, but if you're on a budget, there's plenty here to recommend.

Plus: MAN THIGHS! We TOLD you the shorter short was ripe for a comeback! Didn't we say? Didn't we say just that to you? None of you listen to us. You're just like your father. Finish your dinner and get out of my sight.
